It’s the first day of summer and I’m making preparations for a 53-day/8,000 mile motorcycle ride from my home at The Jonquil Motel in Bisbee, Arizona up to British Columbia and back.

Fifty Three

I’ll be riding my 2017 BMW R 1200 GS Rallye which has 53,000 miles on the odometer. I’m 53 years old, which is why I decided it would be a good idea to make this a 53 day trip. Was it a good idea? We’ll see…
Motorcycle Camping Gear

I’m carrying everything that I need to survive life on the road as a solo motorcyclist. This includes my motorcycle riding gear, camping equipment, cooking tools and all of my camera gear.
The Weight of my Luggage

I weighed everything that I will be bringing with me and the total weight of all of my luggage including the camera gear is 90 pounds. Since the BMW motorcycle is a large 1200cc bike, it can carry all of this weight without a problem.
