In this video I share my process of location scouting for an adventure motorcycling film, including how I make waypoints, naming conventions, photos and b-roll acquisition along the way.
I talk about the challenges of adventure motorcycle filmmaking when it comes to finding the best locations and filming solo or with a group of riders.
This video was filmed during the August 2019 scouting of the Northeast BDR for Backcountry Discovery Routes. Filming of the movie took place one month later in September 2019.
About the NEBDR: The long awaited North East BDR (NEBDR) is the tenth route developed for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel. Crossing more state lines and covering more mileage than any other BDR makes the NEBDR one of the most diverse routes in the BDR series. Every state delivers a unique experience unto itself and while sections can be done over an extended weekend, riders who commit to the entire 1,400-mile route will truly feel as though they had an adventure of a lifetime.
